The Parish Council consist of 11 councillors  who are democratically accountable to the electorate of the parish.

The councillors are elected for a four year term, the next election being 2027.

The overiding duty of the Council is to the whole community, but they have a specific duty to their electors including those who did not vote for them.

The council also alerts relevant authorities to problems that arise or work that needs to be done in the parish and helps other tiers of local government to keep in touch with their local communities. All are committed to adhering to the Member Code of Conduct proposed by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, details of which can be found on the Finance and Asset Page under Policies and Regulations.

The administration of the Parish Council is managed by our Parish Clerk, Mrs Samantha Rounding who is a paid, part-time employee of the Parish Council and who performs both the statutory roles of Secretary and Finance Officer of the Parish Council. As part of her role she provides procedural guidance for the Parish Council and ensures that statutory and other provisions governing or affecting the running of the Parish Council are fully observed; is responsible for enacting the decisions of the Parish Council and for receiving and issuing official correspondence on their behalf, and is the formal point of contact for any matter you wish to raise with the Parish Council: parish.clerk@northdaltonparishcouncil.org.uk

Parish Council meetings are held every alternate month and are open to members of the public. If you wish to speak at a meeting about a particular subject, then please inform the Parish Clerk well ahead of attending to facilitate productive discussion. The date, time and venue of forthcoming meetings are displayed on theVillage Notice Board and on this website.
